Trough-Pan Gas-Liquid Distributor

AYRTTER is a professional manufacturer and supplier of Trough-Pan Gas-Liquid Distributors in China. We understand that uniform gas and liquid distribution is equally important in the operation of packed towers. Uneven liquid distribution can lead to wall flow and channeling, while uneven gas distribution can cause local flooding, entrainment, and reduced mass transfer efficiency. To address this, AYRTTER has launched its Trough-Pan Gas-Liquid Distributor product series, integrating liquid and gas distribution functions. Utilizing a unique tank-pan composite structure, it achieves dual uniform distribution of the gas and liquid phases, making it an ideal choice for large packed towers, retrofitted towers, and applications with high separation requirements.

Product Description

The Trough-Pan Gas-Liquid Distributor offers advantages such as more uniform gas and liquid distribution, lower pressure drop, anti-entrainment, smaller footprint, and easier installation. It is suitable for conditions involving feed, side-stream extraction, and liquid collection and redistribution.
It is an evolution of the disc-type liquid distributor and incorporates some advantages of the trough-type liquid distributor. The trough-disc distributor consists of a riser cap, riser pipe, liquid guide pipe, and base.

This distributor can simultaneously perform functions of liquid collection, gas distribution, liquid distribution, and side-stream extraction. The addition of a flow-guiding packing ring further enhances the liquid distribution effect of the new Trough-Pan Gas-Liquid Distributor .

The Trough-Pan Gas-Liquid Distributor also features greater operational flexibility and stronger anti-clogging capabilities, which contributes to the long-term normal operation of the equipment.

Product Feature

1. Dual Gas-Liquid Distribution, Multi-Functional Function:
The tray-type distributor combines the functions of a liquid distributor and a gas distributor into one. It simultaneously performs the following on a single tower cross-section:
* Uniform liquid spraying
* Gas rectification and redistribution
This design saves tower space, reduces tower height, and decreases the number of internal components and investment costs.
2. Uniform Gas Distribution, Eliminating Local High-Speed Zones:
A flow guide cap at the top of the riser pipe forces the gas out of the riser pipe outlet to change direction, forming a horizontal or oblique airflow, achieving uniform distribution across the tower cross-section. This design effectively avoids flooding and mist entrainment caused by gas concentration along the tower wall or localized high-speed rise.
3. High Liquid Distribution Precision:
Distribution holes are opened at the bottom of the distribution tank according to fluid dynamics calculations, achieving a distribution point density of 80–200 points/m². After overflowing into the distribution tank, the liquid maintains a stable level and falls uniformly in droplets or lines through the distribution holes, achieving a distribution uniformity of over 95%.
4. Combines Liquid Collection and Redistribution Functions
When the tray-type distributor is installed between two sections of packing, it collects liquid from the upper packing layer, mixes it evenly, and then redistributes it to the lower packing layer. This feature makes it an ideal redistribution device for segmented packed towers, effectively eliminating the wall flow accumulation effect.
5. Wide Operational Flexibility
Trough-Pan Gas-Liquid Distributors rely on gravity for liquid distribution, and the distribution quality mainly depends on the liquid level. AYRTTER products maintain stable distribution performance within a range of 30%–120% of the design load, with an operational flexibility of over 4:1.
6. Strong Anti-Clogging Capability and Easy Maintenance
The distribution orifice diameter is typically 6–15mm (adjustable according to the solid content of the medium). The riser pipe guide cap gap is rationally designed, making it difficult for solid particles to clog. Even if individual distribution orifices become clogged, adjacent orifices can handle the excess flow, resulting in minimal decrease in overall distribution uniformity.
7. Robust Structure, Suitable for Large Tower Diameters
The base and distribution tray are welded from metal plates, providing high overall rigidity. The riser pipe also serves as a support structure, capable of supporting the weight of the upper packing and internal components. The modular design allows the distributor to be manufactured in sections and assembled on-site, suitable for various towers with diameters ranging from 300mm to over 12000mm.
8. Diverse Materials, Adaptable to Various Corrosive Conditions
The AYRTTERTrough-Pan Gas-Liquid Distributor can be made from a variety of metal materials depending on the media environment.

Applicable Scenarios
Segmented Packed Towers: Installed between two sections of packing, combining liquid collection and redistribution with gas redistribution functions.
Large Towers (Diameter > 3000mm): Addresses significant gas distribution unevenness; tray-type towers effectively improve this.
Tower Retrofit Projects: Requires adding distribution functionality within limited space; tray-type towers offer compact structure and integrated functionality.
Units with Large Operational Fluctuations: Offers wide operational flexibility to adapt to load changes.

Manufacturing Process and Quality Control
AYRTTERTrough-Pan Gas-Liquid Distributor employs rigorous manufacturing and inspection processes:
1. Design Calculations: Hydraulic verification, gas flow field simulation, opening calculation, strength verification.
2. Material Selection: Selecting appropriate materials based on operating conditions and providing material certificates.
3. Precision Machining: CNC cutting, punching, rolling, accuracy ±0.5mm.
4. Welding Assembly: TIG welding/CO₂ shielded welding, ensuring smooth, deformation-free welds; verticality of riser pipe to base ≤1/500.
5. Levelness Inspection: Overall levelness is inspected after assembly, requiring ≤1/1000.
6. Flow Rate Calibration (Optional): Water flow distribution uniformity test is performed before shipment.
7. Airtightness Test: Airtightness inspection of the weld between the riser pipe and the chassis.
8. Surface Treatment: Pickling and passivation (stainless steel) or anti-corrosion coating (carbon steel).
AYRTTER Trough-Pan Gas-Liquid Distributor complies with ISO9001 quality management system certification, ensuring stable performance and reliable quality for each batch of products.
