Product Feature
I. Eight-Arch Concave Surface for High Surface Utilization
The most significant feature of the Metal VSP Ring is its ring wall, composed of eight concave arc surfaces, rather than the smooth cylindrical surface of traditional packings. Each concave arc surface acts as a microscopic "liquid collector"—liquid flowing through it is "captured" and evenly spread, preventing the formation of streams. These eight arc surfaces divide the liquid into eight independent streams on the ring wall, each stream spreading evenly on its own arc surface, significantly improving overall surface area utilization. Precision stamping of the metal material ensures accurate dimensions and smooth transitions for the eight arc surfaces.
II. Four-Point Support Structure for High Mechanical Strength
Another important feature of the Metal VSP Ring is its four-point support structure. The eight concave arc surfaces of the ring form four raised support points at the end face of the ring (one support point is formed at the intersection of every two arc surfaces), transforming the contact between adjacent packings from the traditional "point contact" or "line contact" of an annular ring into a four-point "multi-point contact." Increased contact points reduce contact stress, resulting in a more stable packing layer; more uniform void distribution between packing particles leads to better gas-liquid distribution; and more uniform stress distribution under pressure enhances the ring's compressive strength. The high strength of the metal material further amplifies this advantage.
III. Lower Pressure Drop, Higher Flux
The open inner arc design of the Metal VSP Ring significantly reduces resistance as gas passes through the packing layer. The transition area between the concave arc surfaces forms natural flow channels, allowing gas to flow smoothly along these channels without frequent detours. The thin-walled nature of the metal material further reduces resistance. Compared to metal Pall rings of the same specifications, the Metal VSP Ring reduces pressure drop by 10%–20% and increases flux by 10%–15%.
IV. High Mass Transfer Efficiency, Excellent Separation
The eight-arc concave surface of the Metal VSP Ring creates a unique and highly efficient gas-liquid contact environment. The liquid is divided into eight independent streams on eight concave arc surfaces, each forming a thin and uniform liquid film. As the gas flows through the channels between the arc surfaces, it constantly changes direction, generating local turbulence and promoting gas-liquid interface renewal. The gas and liquid phases come into multiple contacts and undergo repeated mass transfer on the arc surfaces, resulting in high separation efficiency.
