Product Description

Raschig Ring, the earliest industrial random packing material, was invented in the early 20th century by the German chemist Friedrich Raschig and named after him. The advent of Raschig Ring marked the birth of modern packing technology, laying a crucial foundation for the evolution of packed towers from traditional plate towers to high-efficiency packed towers.
Raschig Ring has an extremely simple shape—a hollow cylinder with a height equal to its diameter. This minimalist design gives it advantages such as ease of manufacture, low cost, and stable mechanical properties. In over a century of industrial practice, Raschig Ring has withstood countless tests under various operating conditions, becoming one of the most classic and reliable choices in the random packing family.

Although in later performance comparisons, the throughput and mass transfer efficiency of Raschig Ring are lower than those of newer packing materials such as Pall rings and stepped rings, it remains the optimal choice under specific operating conditions. When process conditions place extremely high demands on the mechanical strength, corrosion resistance, and thermal shock resistance of the packing material, while the requirements for pressure drop and efficiency are relatively relaxed, Raschig Ring is often an irreplaceable choice.

Product Feature

I. Simplest Structure, Easiest to Manufacture
The Raschig Ring is a simple hollow cylinder, without windows, internal tongues, or complex curved surfaces. This extremely simple design makes its manufacturing process extremely simple. Whether through ceramic extrusion, metal stamping, or plastic injection molding, the Raschig Ring is one of the easiest packing products to manufacture. The simple structure also means lower production costs and more consistent product quality.
II. Lowest Cost, Best Economic Efficiency
Due to its simple structure, ease of manufacturing, and high material utilization, the Raschig Ring is one of the lowest-cost products among all random packings. In applications where packing performance requirements are not high but the quantity used is large, the economic advantage of the Raschig Ring is particularly prominent. Achieving basic process requirements at a lower price is the core reason for the Raschig Ring's long-term viability.
III. High Mechanical Strength, Good Durability
The hollow cylinder is a geometric structure with very stable mechanical properties. The continuous, non-porous walls of the Raschig Ring give it higher compressive and flexural strength than open-pore packings such as Pall rings and stepped rings. This characteristic is particularly important in deep-bed, high-pressure, and high-impact environments. Ceramic Raschig Rings exhibit significantly better crush resistance than open-pore ceramic packings.
IV. Wide Applicability, Classic Reliability
Raschig Rings can be manufactured from almost any material, including ceramics, metals, plastics, and carbon, adapting to various operating conditions from strong acids and alkalis to high temperatures and pressures. A century of industrial application validation has made it one of the most reliable packing products. In many traditional industrial sectors, Raschig Rings remain the specified packing type in design standards and operating manuals.

Manufacturing and Quality
AYRTTER Raschig Rings employ advanced manufacturing processes and a rigorous quality control system.
Ceramic Raschig Rings utilize vacuum extrusion and high-temperature sintering processes. The blank is vacuum extruded, resulting in high density, no porosity, uniform wall thickness, and smooth end faces. Precise control of the high-temperature sintering temperature ensures the product's corrosion resistance and mechanical strength. Each batch of products undergoes testing for compressive strength, acid and alkali corrosion resistance, and other properties.
Metal Raschig Rings are manufactured using precision stamping or rolling processes, resulting in excellent ring roundness, strong seams, and smooth end faces. The thin-walled design ensures sufficient mechanical strength while maintaining lightweight construction.
Plastic Raschig Rings are manufactured using precision injection molding, resulting in a one-piece molding process with excellent dimensional consistency. They feature excellent ring roundness, uniform wall thickness, and burr-free end faces.
AYRTTER Raschig Rings comply with ISO9001 quality management system certification, and each batch undergoes rigorous testing to ensure stable performance and reliable quality.
